Jonathan Ashby-Rock

Head of Production Arts

Jonathan Ashby-Rock (also known as Jono) is Artistic Director for The Arts Centre Hounslow in London.

He is the life and soul of their fantastic pantomimes (writer and director) , and is regularly involved with numerous projects. Jonno is responsible for choosing the awesome shows that get put on at The Arts Centre!

Most recently he opened a new CIC non profit in Hounslow and took over the top floor of an old Debenhams building. He has created a restaurant and club run by refugees who need to learn work skills, and he is also responsible for a fantastic arts hub and gallery, described by The Times as ‘an Etsy for the high street’ where local artists and creators can rent space at very low cost to sell their work to the public.

A fully trained actor (Redroofs graduate) from a family who work in the industry - Jono has been working professionally since he was a child. He has a BA.Hons in Acting, and is often seen delivering workshops and masterclasses for companies including The National Theatre through their Connections project.

As a successful producer in his own right - he runs our Producers and Production gap year course - offering hands on work experience in his own venue and those of his network.

As a professional actor - he also teaches some of our acting and audition technique units.

Jonno is an outgoing enthusiastic professional who is very committed to helping the next generation of theatre makers and performers to get every opportunity they can.
