Gap Year Dance Training

Designed for ambitious and experienced performers aged 18+

Our Level 4 Diploma in Dance is an intensive, one-year programme designed for dancers who are ready to bridge the gap between sixth form and professional training. Whether you're preparing to re-audition for drama school, strengthen your technical ability before higher education or spend an additional year developing your confidence and versatility, this course provides the focused training and individual support to help you take your next step.

Unlike many gap year programmes, places are intentionally kept small, allowing every learner to benefit from personalised coaching, individual feedback and tailored audition support throughout the year.

While the programme is centred around dance, today's performing arts industry increasingly values versatile performers. Alongside advanced dance training, you'll continue to develop your singing and acting skills, ensuring you're fully prepared for the widest possible range of auditions and progression opportunities. With many leading conservatoires and professional training providers seeking strong triple-threat performers, this broader approach helps maximise your options for the future.

Intensive Professional Training

Train in a conservatoire-style environment with over 20 hours of practical training each week, developing advanced technical skills across a range of dance styles while continuing to build your acting and singing ability.

Individualised Development

Every learner's journey is different. Our experienced team will work closely with you to identify your strengths, refine your technique and support your individual progression goals.

Audition & Industry Preparation

Receive dedicated support with dance school and drama school auditions, repertoire, self-tapes, interviews, personal statements and professional development, ensuring you're fully prepared for the next stage of your career.

Performance Opportunities

Perform regularly throughout the year in productions, showcases and public performances, applying your training in a professional environment while building confidence and performance experience.

Industry Professionals

Learn from experienced choreographers, dancers and industry practitioners who continue to work professionally, bringing current industry knowledge and expectations directly into the studio.

Qualifications – What will I learn?

The Level 4 Diploma includes key core units essential for a comprehensive understanding and mastery of the performing arts:

Focused Training for Your Next Step

Unlike our Level 3 programme, the Level 4 Diploma is built around four specialist units that focus on performance, professional practice and audition preparation. This allows far greater emphasis to be placed on developing you as a performer, rather than dividing your time across a broad academic curriculum.

Alongside your qualification, you'll train as part of our advanced Dance programme, with a strong emphasis on developing your technical ability, performance quality and versatility. While dance remains at the heart of the course, you'll also continue to develop your singing and acting skills, reflecting the expectations of many leading conservatoires and the wider performing arts industry.

Your training may include Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Commercial, Choreography, Vocal Technique, Acting Technique, Musical Theatre Repertoire, Audition Technique, Professional Development, Industry Workshops.

Impressive Track Record:

Since inception of the course, 100% of our students passed and achieved a merit or above.

The Timetable:

Our main College timetable runs Tuesday-Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm.

In addition, students may be required to attend additional show rehearsals and technical rehearsals.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants are expected to have a strong passion for the performing arts and must demonstrate potential through an audition process.

It is requirement that students achieve 5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, which must include Maths and English. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate GCSE resit candidates. All offers are conditional until GCSE results day and confirmation of grades achieved.
